Monday was just the third day in recorded weather history that it was 70 degrees in Buffalo in December. I would say that makes it, "not normal."

El Niño is a naturally occurring phenomenon, instances of which pre-date the industrial revolution:

With fewer than two weeks to go until Dec. 25, the weather pattern is dashing the hopes of many for a white Christmas this year.

Due to the strong El Niño unfolding, many places that typically have a good chance of seeing snow on Christmas Day will miss out this holiday.

This includes the East Coast I-95 cities, where meteorologists say chances are slim.

"There's just not going to be enough cold air to support accumulating snow," AccuWeather Meteorologist Brett Anderson said.

YF, you should explain that El Niño is Spanish for The Niño.

The climate's been changing back and forth ever since climate began.
In the '70s, we were told another ice age was coming. Now, it's global warming.
Are we sure climate change is bad?
And if getting warmer is bad, what climate should we have and who gets to decide?

You're missing the point. Abnormal weather is the only normal thing there is when it comes to weather. There's always something "not normal."

Last year was the warmest since they began keeping records. This year will be in a few more days.

How long in the history of mankind have they been keeping records? And why do they throw out some of that very short history?
