    I wasn't sure that this should go in this thread or the bitching about weather thread, but now that the phenomenon is two months old, I chose this one. Eastern Massachusetts, and Cape Cod in particular have been subject since the 4th of July to one of the weirdest weather phenomena in these parts in my almost 50 years of living here. It's been a humid drought. Day after day with dewpoints near or above 70 with the occasional cloudburst, but no significant rainy days. That shit ain't normal.

    So is the will to self-preservation.

    As one of the few species ingenious and self-aware enough to understand ourselves and our environment and adjust each to our needs, nothing about climate change or our response to climate change is inevitable.

    Not globally.

    If human progress renders the planet uninhabitable for humans, I'm not sure we can count on Jeff or Elon to save us a seat on the billionaire shuttle to Mars.
