Riding in a taxi heading to the Edinburgh airport several years ago, we stuck up a conversation with the Eastern European driver. He really wanted to visit the US and asked if we really had large trucks everywhere. Told him all the cars are way bigger than you’d imagine and no one thinks about it. He laughed and said he couldn’t wait to see.

Everybody knows you park outside because the garage is for the boat, fishing gear, grill, tools, and zero turn mower.

Love my smaller car (2002 CRV) for around town. Love my wife's urban assault vehicle (Honda Pilot) out on the highway.

Invariably when I park downtown, some guy in a huge truck parks right next to me and I can't see whit while trying to back out.

I recall when the little Ford Escort first came out, Ford made a big deal out of the global network of suppliers contributing parts to its first "world car". I was bicycling through Tory Corners and there was a new Escort, fresh from the dealer, with an engine fire. The fireman were laughing their asses off.

It later became a best seller but maybe that coincided with the developoment of Ford Motor Credit.

Yesterday was the first day of 2023 where it was unpleasant from sunup to sunset. And beyond sunset.

Three hours on the tennis court and three dog walks only made it even more obvious.

But I hear thunder right now. So maybe we'll get a break.

This was probably covered in Mad Men, but I wonder when the eureka moment was for Madison Avenue that 10 paragraphs of copy in a full page ad was overkill.

Way before GM realized it shouldn’t have 12 different versions of the same car.

Imagine 500 words on the Pontiac Vibe.
