"Inched" being a very broad verb, I guess. :)

Actually, at Prime Head, it'll be just over freezing this week. That's the northernmost part of the continent. Roughly the latitude equivalent of Reykjavík.

Literally it flips things from “I wouldn’t want to do hurricane evacuation in one of those” to “I need one of those for evacuation.”

I could drive from Dallas to Nashville on one charge if that battery works out. What will be the cost per charge, though? How many kilowatt-hours does it take to charge a battery like that?

How long does it last before you have to replace it?

I still think the best option is some sort of hybrid where the vehicle switches between gas and electric depending on the speed and need.
When the gasoline portion is running, it self charges the batteries. I'm not an engineer obviously, but the best I've got, and it's the best of both worlds.
You don't tax the electric grid charging full EVs, you cut fossil fuel usage, and the driving isn't handcuffed on travel.

My Prius runs similarly. Gas when you need power and going faster than city driving. Electric when you’re in stop and go with brakes and a solar panel to charge the battery. If I take it easy, I get 50+ miles to the gallon.

Game-changer, yes, if true. But ... what's the cost of the vehicle with such a battery?

Approximately $350,000 for the base model, and $500,000 nicely loaded.
But worth every penny, I'm sure.

    Yeah, so, not a game-changer.

I was being facetious. But I'm sure it's not an affordable $22,000 sedan.

If they say they can halve the cost of the battery, that could be up to $10,000 the cost of the car in savings.
