Window dressing on top of window dressing. These people have a bigger carbon footprint in one year than I have in my lifetime.

    You measure the destruction afterwards.

Certain trees snap at certain wind speeds. Things of certain weight are lifted at certain wind speeds.

Galveston Texas had no wooden structures left standing to measure against.

You measure storm strength during. A bunch of other factors help determine how a tree does (healthy? diseased? strong root system? weak?) or how other objects are affected.

When you start throwing around things like "storms are stronger now than in the past," I want exact wind speeds and exact barometric pressure readings to back up the claim.

When you say "more hurricanes are forming now than in the past," I want an assurance that EVERY hurricane that formed in 1880 (or whenever) was actually recorded.

Is that really too much to ask? If it is, then just offer a "we don't know."

In addition to the winds, the storm surge was five to six feet deep over virtually all of the island.

Yeah, they still can't give an accurate death total. because so many people were just simply washed away.

If you go to a golf range and see golf balls 350 yards from the tees, do you question if a stronger golfer was there than the normal person that golfs there?

Yes. Because they could have been blown there by a strong wind afterward. Or a strong wind was at the back of the golfer when he was hitting them.
