Nuclear will be added begrudgingly to the American energy menu. It's far better than wind and solar.

The objection to it was made with the best of intentions, but it’s a pretty miraculous technology that we’ve not been using. The oversight needs to be better. Living near the Davis-Besse reactor as a kid and finding out we were a couple centimeters of metal away from disaster was terrifying.

I really don't worry about the reactor, the technology is pretty solid. What the hell we're going to do with the nuclear waste is another question altogether.

I suppose we can just let it accumulate until there's 700 million gallons, then dump it in the bay.

My neighbor's front porch has peeling paint and his yard is too tall and has weeds in it. It hurts my property value, so therefore I will stop doing improvement projects on my own home.

If Greta Thunberg was meaningless, what was she for? Political theater for the climate cool kids?

The “cool kids” are in the bathroom stalls doing coke and buying bitcoin, not going to climate summits.

Climate is a contextual modifier in my sentence.

Mind you, I believe she was used as theater, and wrongly. I didn't feel that way about the Stoneman Douglas kids, not like that, until that event popped up in DC, and some of the speakers were quite obviously performing activist theater, and there's 9-year-old kid as speakers on the stage, etc.

We have one vegan restaurant in our town and, surprisingly, I absolutely love their food. It is absolutely delicious.

A sentence in the chef's statement that was interesting to me:

When we reopen Eleven Madison Park on June 10th, every dinner you purchase will allow us to provide five meals to food-insecure New Yorkers.

A good journalist will find out what those meals are, and whether the food-insecure New Yorkers actually want them.

Nevertheless, this is probably the way forward for a lot of high-line creative endeavors - restaurants, the arts, etc. A race to see who can get there first.
