Climate Change? Nahhh ...

I think we're doomed. Better to spend money on dealing with the impacts of CC than to squander the cash on an attempt to manage it. Some home insurance premiums will skyrocket, they are even offered coverage at all.
That was the dumb thing about the foot-dragging. The bill is coming due one way or another. You can "say" your car can go another 1,000 miles without an oil change, but reality is a different beast.

Yep, nature has a way of dealing with animal populations that havc exceeded a healthy density. Where whitetail deer have become too numerous, chronic wasting disease has taken hold. Lemmings rush en masse off a cliff. The difference with people is that we're going to drag a lot of other species with us. Cockroaches will do just fine, though.

I still believe the Earth has mechanisms to heal itself; we are just hurting it faster than it can heal.

More trees, less ground beef, more solar, less gasoline in cars, more clean fuel sources... I've not given up yet.

It's 95 freaking degrees at 7:35 p.m. in the Pacific Northwest. That's not supposed to happen.

When the weather sucks everywhere else, it's good in Texas — and vice versa. By local standards, this summer has been quite tolerable.

I drove through Texas last month. Tolerable is not the word I would use to describe the weather.

When I lived in the PNW from 2003-05, I worked construction. If the next day’s forecast called for a high of 85, we went to work at 6 a.m. to avoid the *heat.*

What’s been happening there the past five years or so isn’t normal — isn’t right. Our house didn’t have air conditioning, but I bet a shit-ton of them have it now.

Think climate change is a myth? Go fuck yourself.

What's tolerable in Texas is instant death elsewhere. I recognize that.

It has been a mild summer in Alabama. June was outright cool, low 80's days and low 70's nights. Normally by mid-August we're looking at dry, brown yards. My grass is emerald green due to more rain than normal, and it's knee high fast if you miss mowing. Normal highs would be mid-90's to pushing 100. High today of 88.

OTOH, the increased rain means that it is humid beyond belief. Five minutes outside without getting in the car and turning the AC on and you're drenched.

Ok. Time to invest in stopping global warming, by god.

Yeah - but I can live without those. My morning coffee, not so much.
