    Will do.

Also, Slang, you might appreciate this. About 5 years ago I covered a school with twin girls who played hoops. Their last name is Argotsinger. Looked up "argot" and it means "slang" ... so, they were the Slangsingers. So when I see your name it reminds me of them.

    You're right, IJAG.

The first 30 seconds of "Back and Forth" sucked me in.

I'm obviously biased...but she could have been amazing.

She was beautiful, had a melodic voice, wasn't a terrible actress, had an actual supportive family.

    Gone, at 22.

Check out "At Your Best" on this link. She was 15.

I don't know how to do the whole file sharing thing like C-Slang, but one of my favorite albums (sorry, Mitch, not you) in a long time is "Electric Honey" by Luscious Jackson. I'm not a big fan of the 3rd song, but every other beat kicks ass.

This link gives you a chance to sample the songs. The first song gets the vibe rolling right away. My favorite song is Sexy Hypnotist, but all of them really capture an essence.

All good. I was just trying to reveal some of the lineage of the Gnarls Barkley, since that crossed a lot of boundaries and hit a lot of people who probably never knew much about either guys' career.

I'm gonna drop much more in here...

I encourage people (if they feel comfortable sharing) to do the same...

    Vol. 3: White People Soul

White dudes are showing their soul side these days. Here's a few dope songs that I like very much.

    James Morrison - Wonderful World
No, not Jim Morrison. But this dude could be like the next James Blunt, if he plays his shit right. He's another UK singer guy. Dude's album is pretty tight, though.

    Robin Thicke - Cocaine

Yes is Alan Thicke's (Growing Pains) son. He's rolling with Pharrell these days. He can bring it vocally. This song is so smooth.

Justin Timberlake - What Goes Around...
One of the dopest songs on his new album. A lot of the songs on the album are like 7 minutes long and go off into little interludes or short songs at the end, so ignore that. The main song is DOPE.

I missed the Gnarls thread. Haven't heard anything other than "Crazy." I do see they dressed like the Droogs in a picture.

The thing with new-school rap and hip hop is that I judge everything against old school like Erik B. and Rakim and LL Cool J and Kool Moe Dee and Ice T and Stetsosonic and Run DMC and Public Enemy and De La Soul and Arrested Development and Gang Starr and many others I'm forgetting. Today's shiznit -- most of it at least -- just doesn't stack up against those beats I grew up with.

But I'll give anything a listen.

Songbird, I will dedicate a few installment of Clubber Plays the Hits to you, showcasing current hip-hop artists that have an old school feel to them. Just gimme a few days. I'm heading to Vegas...

Put 20 down on the Saints to win the Super Bowl. You never know when something crazy might happen. Reggie Bush just might be the miracle man of the bayou.
