Your picture inspired me and for some reason, we have Green Chartreuse in our bar. That was not a good combo.

I went to a place on Miami Beach last weekend which had a great drink menu (and fantastic food). Had the Sidecar and the New Orleans Hellfire. Both were outstanding.

Yeah, I didn't like it either to be honest with you.

I don't usually like Campari, but a bartender made me The Boulevardier (a few posts up) recently, and I liked that. But, the vermouth balanced it better than the Chartreuse. Plus, you've got to enjoy the smokiness of an Islay Scotch. Personally, just a touch of smokiness is enough for me.

For Green Chartreuse drinks, his one was was good: http://www.sportsjournalists.com/forum/posts/3601457/

Campari, soda and a slice of blood orange is my pre-dinner drink of choice. I don't love it mixed with other alcohol.

A friend brought back a bottle of the Havana Club 7 year from London. I'm not a rum guy, but that was great.

Got a sense of déjà vu from this conversation. Sure enough, we had about the same back and forth on the early pages of this thread, over a year ago.

This is one of my favorite, variations on the Manhattan, though technically, it's a take on a Brooklyn.

Imbibe named the Red Hook one of the 25 most influential cocktails of the past century.

In future episodes, we'll explore the Greenpoint and the Bensonhurst:

I didn't know what a Kangaroo cocktail was either, but you've probably had one:

    Greenpoint

    2 oz. Rye
    ½ oz. Punt e Mes
    ½ oz. Yellow Chartreuse
    2 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
    1 Dash of Orange Bitters

This derivative of the Red Hook replaces the Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur with Yellow Chartreuse.

I've see this drink mentioned a lot.

Next time I spot some grapefruit soda, I'm going to pick some up and make one:
