Good for him. That is a hell of a lot to do in 2.2.

That's why he's player of the year.

Not seeing it, did UM even try to get in his way?

Don't contest inbound with 2.2 seconds left and a 2-point lead? Check.
Don't put anyone on Big Ten Player of the Year bringing the ball up court? Check.
Keep four defenders packed into the paint? Check.
Only put token pressure on the shot from said Big Ten Player of the Year? Check.

I can now understand why U-M extended Beilein's contract in January.

Oh and not a good past few days for Washtenaw County D-1 hoop coaches, what with Eastern Michigan's failure to foul Akron's gunner before attempting a tying triple sending it to double-OT, where they gacked it away completely.

I see Miami is giving Va. Tech a battle in the ACC quarters.

The Hurricanes' record is listed as 19-12 overall, 4-12 in the ACC. Huhh?? 15-0 nonconference??

Either the ACC is deeper than I thought this year, or Miami played a weak NC schedule.

If Virginia Tech is not in the tournament than they shouldn't have one.

This is an NCAA Tournament-worthy team.

And I'm sure the prospects of a Marquette-West Virginia Big East championship game on Saturday night has the folks at ESPN thrilled..... ::)

Not looking like one now but overall I concur.

And it's "then they shouldn't have one."

A couple years ago, Akron went something like 26-7, lost the MAC tournament final on a banked-in three at the buzzer and didn't make the NCAA tourney. Strength of schedule was their undoing.

No idea who Memphis played this year, but while 23-9 is a good record, it is far from qualifying you as a lock for the big dance.
