I don't see why Tech should be a tournament team. Their three wins against possible tournament teams are Tech, Clemson and Wake. That's it, and two of those three are looking like 10-12 seeds at this point

Dre - I know what the "resume" says -- I also know what I am looking at and I see a tournament team, they are athletic, they have depth, they have talent, I think they are well coached, etc., etc. - you will never convince me they aren't as good as some of these mid-major teams.

One thing that this tournament will do is this - create a lot of really interesting early round games.

I mean, can you imagine being, oh I don't know, Duke and seeing oh, I don't know, Texas (who obviously has issues but is still really talented) as the 9 seed?

I'm not against using the eye test, especially when two teams are very close. But at the same time, I feel that teams get a certain amount of chances every year to prove that they're actually worthy. They had their chances against Duke, Maryland and Temple and lost to all three of them. Their best non-conference win was against Seton Hall, and a lot of that falls on bad scheduling. If you're not willing to schedule tougher teams, you damn well better beat the good teams you do play.

And in the "chance to prove yourself" category - Ole Miss has about 14 minutes left to prove itself against Tennessee.

Ole Miss is like 9-of-20 from FT line and trails Tennessee by 9 with 3 mins left

EDIT: Tennessee wins by 11; Ole Miss finally 12-of-25 from stripe
Tennessee v. UK in one semi tomorrow

Mississippi State is playing horrible, yet still leads Florida by 15 points. The Dawgs' strategy seems to be "jack up an ill-advised three pointer and hope it goes in." I could easily see them losing this one by double digits.

Dayton looking mighty impressive against Xavier. That's a team that, if it can get into the tournament, could be very dangerous. They are very deep and I love Chris Wright's game.

Edit: And as I say that, Xavier goes on an 8-0 run.

Um, what game are you watching?
State's shooting 65 percent from the field and 65 percent from 3-land.
Up 11 at halftime, I think they'll take that.

Also, Southern Miss is within 61-59 of Houston in CUSA semis with 2 mins left

This is win or NIT for Dayton. They fell too hard down the stretch to feel good about their chances if they lose here. But Rhode Island *probably* locked down their spot with the St. Louis win, so that gives the A-10 four.

I totally agree. I actually think they need this win and one more (especially if it's Richmond) to be feel safe.

Houston tops Southern Miss 74-66 and will face favored UTEP in CUSA finals Saturday.
Many analysts have CUSA only getting one bid this season.
I think UAB and UTEP should get in and Memphis is on the radar, too.

Did the PBP guy during the Mississippi State game just say that Jarvis Varnardo was going to get a "blow job" as he was walking to the bench?
