Lunardi currently has the ACC with seven teams going to the tourney. If that's a diss, someone diss me please. (Surely the ACC won't get more than five...no?)

As I said last nite, I am NOT in favor of enlarging the field.

With regard to Joe Lunardi, there are several teams that have question marks that he's already granted a berth to.
    Wake
    Notre Dame (8-seed ?)
    Clemson (9-seed ?)
Marquette (got beat by 20 or 30 in conference tourney)
    Missouri
    Texas
Any of these would get a good game from the likes of Lunardi's fringe teams, such as Florida or Illinois or Seton Hall.

    I promise you.

At 6p.m. EDT, Joe Lunardi, happily, returns to obscurity for another year. I swear he's been changing his ratings on a basket-by-basket basis this week.

That argument makes no sense. Just because a team like Florida or Illinois would give a team like Notre Dame a good game doesn't mean that Notre Dame doesn't has a much better overall profile. That was a team that won six in a row (including two games against Pitt) before losing a two point game to West Virginia.

Still expect them to kiss Duke's overrated asses. Will remain grossly disappointed if
as many as seven of the sorry ACC dwarves
    make the Show.

I think that will get dropped down to six if MSU can beat Kentucky. The other six look to be pretty set, though.

Agree w/Dre: Georgia Tech played their way in this weekend, and while it's tempting to ding Wake Forest, they have wins against Richmond, Gonzaga, Maryland, Clemson and Georgia Tech, so it's going to be hard to keep them out (though they have every reason to sweat). VT, on the other hand, might want to make sure Cassell Coliseum is ready for a couple more games.

Wake died down the stretch and didn't just lose to Miami, it got crushed. I'm not making a case for VT because I think VT could be in trouble. But Wake over VT (which won only head-to-head and finished higher in the league)? No way.

The reason they'd get in is that wins against Gonzaga, Richmond and Xavier out of conference more than trumps anything VT did before ACC play.

So dying on the vine doesn't cost them a thing?
Yes, out of conference is important. IN conference has to count for something, too, right?

It does count, for sure, but I'm not sure it's enough to make up for such a poor non-conference schedule.

And in this Kentucky game, is it me or was that celebration a little much for just tying the game?
