Indiana State completed the biggest comeback in the 103-year history of the Missouri Valley Conference, wiping out a 24-point deficit in the final 14 minutes at Missouri State to force overtime.

Then ... ISU lost anyway. Fail to riches to fail.

NCSU up 10 over Duke with 16 minutes to go in the second half.

    Nah ... really? REALLY?

Memphis went for the NCAA record for consecutive wins in conference play ... and didn't get it. UTEP won 72-67 at FedEx Forum to snap the streak at 64 games.

Looks like Kansas is going to survive. In the ACC, UNC lost its third straight and Duke looks set to lose to State.

Someone said Andy Katz posted that this would be the first time North Carolina and Duke have lost conference games on the same night since February 2003.

The poor business owners on Hillsborough Street - at least those who haven't closed down - might want to tape up their windows.

Holy. Freaking. Sh_t. Is NCSU really doing this?

Not to take anything away from a great win, but remember when I said Duke isn't as good as people were saying...

They're a top 15 team, for sure, and maybe top 10 team. But they're not final four material.

As much as my allegiance to the alma mater wants to agree, I want to see if this is one game or occurs over a two- or three-week span.

NCSU started its offense 10-15 feet away from the basket, which is how Tracy Smith shot 10-for-12 from the floor (convinced Duke coaching staff didn't want Scott Wood to do what he did in Tallahassee, which was hit seven 3-pointers and go for over 30 against a team with some stout post defense). Devils didn't play any defense, which will piss off Mike Krzyzewski a LOT more than either of the previous losses to Wiscy and Georgia Tech. Wolfpack shot 60 percent. No doubt some of that was adrenaline and some of it was just "their night" or some crap like that, but NCSU usually struggles to shoot 60 percent in an empty gym.

Duke has work to do without question. But can the Devils automatically be dismissed from Final Four discussions? Dunno yet.

That's smart thinking around here. They'll crucify you if you root for where you went to school.
Why, I have to quietly mention that Mississippi State's back in the Top 25 after winning 12 of its last 13. :'(
Seriously, with State and Ole Miss both ranked, it's some high times in the Magnolia State right now.
Southern Miss even took a quality UAB team to the wire tonight.
On the subject of NC hoops earlier on this thread, I'd like to see the Heels or maybe even Duke play the likes of UAB, VCU, Murray State or that sort of team by the second round of the upcoming tourney. Those would be competitive games, I think.
Some really good squads right now from about No. 5 down in the current AP poll.
    Tourney's gonna be fun.
