I don't apologize for my allegiance, Blitz. But I'm also not going to shove it in anyone's face and that's kind of a problem with some here.

My alma mater has no business housing Duke. None. Worse, I'm worried that some idiots in red polyester will be shouting that Sidney Lowe is so much better than Herb Sendek as a result of this one game. Book it ... someone or a few someones are doing this in Raleigh. And, long-term, things won't really improve.

Dre, if you're really looking for an issue with Duke, it's true road games:

    Lost at Madison
    Lost at Atlanta
    Lost at Raleigh

That's 0-3 for those keeping score. A championship program won't have these issues.

Blitz, you haven't seen Southern play. There is no way they should even be mentioned in the same sentence with State or Ole Miss. When they were up 15 on UAB, I turned to a colleague and said, "you watch, they'll blow this."

The fans, the few they've got left, have had more than their fill of Eustachy. Remember, this is a team that lost to North Florida and Canisius.

Just tell the boosters to look at the Pac 10 standings.

I cannot remember a year where both the ACC and the Pac 10 were so average, though.

Don't compare the two leagues. The ACC is very even with no truly great teams. The Pac-10 is downright awful, one of the worst major conference leagues in recent memory.

I'd take anyone, in any comparable spot in the standings, who plays in the ACC to beat anyone in the Pac 10. An ACC-Pac 10 showdown has a better chance to end 10-0 in the ACC's favor than it does even 5-5.

The ACC boasts several sweet 16 caliber teams. One of them could, COULD sneak into the final four. Or none of them could make the final 8.

Who's even decent in the Pac 10 this year? I looked at some of the lines the other day, noticed a few Pac 10 games and thought, "Hmmm. I got NO idea."

But the point is that both leagues are way down from their normal quality of play.

Yeah, well a meteorite crashed into a doctor's office the other day and bird shit was dropped on a car parked outside. But I think we wouldn't compare those two events either.

The ACC is 2-1 head to head with the Pac 10 this season.

The ACC is 7-6 against out of conference Top 20 teams this season while the Pac 10 is 2-10 against out of conference Top 20 teams. Ouch.

What was that ACC-Pac 10 game? I'm seriously curious. The MVC and Conference USA are better than the Pac 10.
