Per Gary Parrish, Georgia Tech is in negotiations with Josh Pastner. Memphis fans on Twitter are practically begging for GT to take him.

 

Memphis ought to offer to play at Georgia Tech twice with no return game required.

 

Last year, the ACC only had one opening, and it resulted in what looks like one of the best hires of the offseason (Buzz Williams). This year, they add one underachiever (Stallings) and look like they'll add one more.

 

I'm surprised Pastner turned out to be a guy who could recruit, but couldn't coach. When he was on the roster at Arizona they talked about how he wasn't really a player, more of a coaching apprentice who helped Lute with game plans and breaking down film.

I don't know who drew up a deal with this kind of buy out, but I bet they are long gone. If they fired him he'd be owed ten million.

 

Not that they can apparently afford it, but GT needs a new athletic director like yesterday. What a thorough botch job.

 

Memphis gets off the hook for a massive buyout. Pastner gets 4-5 more years and a new start. There are worst outcomes.

 

Probably not many worse outcomes for Ga Tech though.
