Don't show that to Zag. He thinks our player development system is just fine. What is lacking in India are shoe-hawking street pimps. Get those and LeBron Singh won't be far behind, I'm sure.

As more and more stuff comes out at Miami, it might not be that far off.

It is worth watching. If I'm Haith, I have my eyes open for openings at programs where you can get to the Final Four ;D

Seems like Wojcik planted rumors about him interviewing/being a candidate for every job that came open over the last 5 years or so. I'm sure that didn't make his bosses very happy, either, as he was not going to the NCAAs and as attendance continued to dwindle the entire time.

No. 2 was Jim Baron. I was a senior in college and everyone in RI thought Baron was gone. Instead, after two seasons, they gave him a 10-year deal, earning the moniker CFL - coach for life.

Correct. It became obvious it was a money ploy when he actually did some interviews about going to visit Virginia Tech. No. 1 was Lebo

So when do I get my brownie points? Do they have cash value?

Funny. Jeff Lebo is at East Carolina, which is still trying to figure out what a basketball is. Funnier still, Ricky Stokes, a former Virginia standout (hello, Circus) and who was Seth Greenberg's predecessor in Blacksburg, was in Greenville two coaching changes prior.

Hey ... just thought I'd tie some loose ends together ...

I covered Ricky in HIGH SCHOOL, which dates me considerably. Terrific guy, really thought he was going to be a standout as a head coach. Just didn't happen, at VT and at ECU. Greenberg was a good call to follow Stokes, as it turned out. Ricky was very quiet, kind of withdrawn. VT needed a bit of a snake-oil salesman. Think Harold Hill. Someone to be loud and excitable and put a little energy and life into the program. Greenberg has upgraded the level there, no question. Back then, VT fans would have killed to be in a position to be disappointed on Selection Sunday.

Getting to another level, though, has clearly been a problem.

As far as the SEC goes, Rick Stansbury was pushed out two or three years too late, and I don't know what the hell South Carolina is thinking firing Darin Horn. Who's itching to coach there? They have a decent new arena, but it's only full when Kentucky plays there, and they haven't won a tournament game in three decades.

I don't think he can be officially hired until the job has been posted for two weeks. That would be Monday or Tuesday.
I'm also pretty sure it's going to be a hassle for Bobby Hurley to be Danny's assistant, if he does come here. Rhode Island has laws against state employees hiring family; Harrick had to wait for a special session at the Capitol before hiring Harrick Jr., IIRC.
