Well it looks like Martin is gone anyway. I suppose it was probably just a matter of time. If not SC now then who knows next year. I still wouldnt be surprised if KState isn't also in the market for a new AD sooner than later

I guess what surprises me is that Illinois didn't go after him. Okay, he's Cuban, not African American and is used to paying HS players - he should be able to recruit Chicago at least.

And Gregg Doyel responded with "you idiots hire another mid-major coach and you have a new arena to fill? You couldn't get a big-name coach to at least talk to?"

  4. North Carolina assistant Jerod Haase will be named the UAB head coach Tuesday morning.

I've been following David Kaplan's (of WGN and CSN Chicago) tweets over the past few days. It's apparent that he and many want someone who not only has a winning record, but also keep Chicago kids instate (good luck with that).

AD Mike Thomas has turned this into a disaster process for Illinois.

From what some of the idiot boards and Illinois fans are saying is that they do not want Groce because he doesn't know Chicago and no one cares to have him there.

And Chris Collins have yet to be mentioned at all for this job is beyond me.

Played against him in high school. That makes me feel old.
I see that and it makes me feel really old. I played against Haase in high school. If Jason Kidd was the best player in the state at the time, Haase was probably a distant second or third.

People in and around Manhattan want Currie's head on a platter.

JFC, he's going from Manhattan, Kan., to Columbia, S.C., and getting $600K a year more to do so.

It's easy to try and pin some blame on people, but Martin should have his head examined if he didn't make that move.

Martin will do well at South Carolina. If you can win at K-State, you can definitely win at South Carolina.

    I agree it's a no-brainer.

The problem is the KStater's see SC as a step down. The money would show differently.
