Holy crap, that's awesome. Is LSU going to break out the comically shortened court if he's hired?

If they hire Theus and he doesn't work out, they could always go after Dick Butkus.

Not saying he wasn't doing a good job at all, just that he probably needed a change of venue. His success at S.Miss didn't seem to be translating to interest from Big Six conferences, maybe success at Colo. State will.

LSU hires Johnny Jones after a brief flirtation with Tubby Smith.

Is there a job that Tubby Smith hasn't been in the mix for in the last two years? Has Arkansas contacted him about the football job yet?

Did you work at a school that belonged to a conference TCU used to play in?

I think I know the guy you're talking about. He used refer to his school's ballpark as One River Stadium.

I'm not. He's going to a school that will pay better, with better facilities and better support.

It had to be disheartening late in a season when his team was driving for a NCAA bid to see the USM coliseum half-empty – and that coliseum, BTW, is a first-class dump. It is telling that average attendance at Southern Miss baseball games and basketball games are about the same.

Also, the AD who hired him – who took a huge gamble in doing so – retired at the end of last year. All things considered, Eustachy probably figured now was the best time to make a move

Considering that the park is on the river, I can sure see him doing that.

Next up for FIU: Pitino's bambino. They really are that desperate for publicity.
