Depends on the relationship the two have.
An older manager will sometimes get into a heater like that with a younger umpire on purpose just to see if the kid isn't going to cower away. You come back and give him a "Don't fucking talk to me like that.....", that will send a sign that the kid is going to be a good one.
See below.....Lou Piniella v. Mark Wegner.

I could never be an ump, because if some guy kicks dirt on me, I'm swinging at him.

Clemsoning: Not just for football anymore.

    Blew a 16-point lead. Lost.

Saw this on some guy's Twitter on ESPN:

Blind Resumes: Team A: 4-3 against Quad 1, 26-0 otherwise, lost in conference final, SOR #8.
Team B: 2-6 against Quad 1, 24-0 otherwise, lost in conference final, SOR # 31.

Team A is Gonzaga, probable top-4 seed. Team B is UNC Greensboro, who probably gets left out in favor of ACC or Big Ten #9.

See also: Belmont. Should be in the tournament despite losing the OVC Tournament final against Murray State.

If you haven't seen the way Rick Byrd coaches up a bunch of kids, watch it sometime. But, in spite of the Bruins' overall body of work, they will likely be passed over ... mainly because of conference affiliation.

Greensboro lost to Wofford by 30, 29 and 12 points. Those two Quad 1 wins came in conference. Trust me, I'm not advocating that the little guy shouldn't have a shot, but Greensboro just doesn't have the quality wins. The Spartans are well below Furman and Belmont in the NET.

Is the term Quad 1, etc., new this year? I'd never heard it before.

I hope Texas loses by 7,000 points tomorrow that way there's no possible way they can make the tournament.

Recent, maybe not this year. Basically, a Quad 1 game is either a home game against a team ranked 1-30 in NET; a neutral-site game against a team 1-50; or a road game against a team ranked 1-75.

It was around last year but figured in RPI, rather than net.

Down a rabbit hole here. Toledo is 25-6 with a NET ranking of 60. Only played one Quad 1 team (Buffalo) and lost twice. Toledo didn't play a single team from one of the seven major conferences (if you include American and Big East). That's crazy to me that a MAC team avoided those conferences altogether in its non-conference slate.
