College basketball thread...

I thought it was a nice "fuck you" from Kevin Love to all the Duck fans for getting on him for not going to UO.

He might be "that YMCA gym guy," but tonight, he measured up.

 

26 and 18 for Love. He might not look the part, but some guys are just damn good basketball players.

 

They were saying on the telecast that one of Love's former high-school friends posted Love's cell phone number on the internet a few days ago, and that Love wound up getting something like 400 calls as a result.

Guess it didn't work.

 

Apparently from reports I read, Kevin's oft meddlesome father went to the press ranting about that.

 

Yeah ... what kind of father is this guy? My son gets taunted by 400 douchebags, I know I'd just let it go.

 

That's not what I meant to imply. Stan has just shown a tendency to use situations involving Kevin to jump into the spotlight, and in this particular case took a perfectly admirable stance (defending and his son) and made it eye-rollingly jackass'd by comparing Kevin to Lew Alcindor.

 

Don't know much about these guys, but this can't be good for the program:

This from a program that had players dismissed two years ago for stealing computers from campus.

 

I think it's more correctly "a player" was dismissed.
One of them was allowed to return.

 

Sometimes it helps to be the one with game.

Memphis is tremendously athletic and physical, with some monsters on the inside.

But surely I'm not the only one who watches the Tigers and thinks there's no way they'll win it all.

 

I've seen two games recently with Jimmy Dykes, and man that guy loves the idea of pounding your chest and puffing your jersey. A must, in his mind, to win a title.
