Last time St. John's had the opening, Louie and Ron Rutledge vowed never to step foot on campus if Calipari was hired. Mainly due to the support he received from Louie, St. John's hired Roberts.

The hire caused a rift amongst St. John's power brokers. The gentleman who donated the funding for Taffner Field House (training facility for the men's and women's teams) believed his check book gave him carte blanche to tell the administration to hire Calipari. When they didn't, he told them that he did not want his name associated with the new facility.

I agree. It needs to be pointed out that Jay Wright does a great job recruiting at 'Nova and they're always in contention. Seton Hall plays in The Prudential Center. Maybe that would entice some Jersey talent to stay home.

St. John's better get well acquainted with South Florida at the bottom of the Big East. That's where they are going to be for a good long time.

Harden had a drive as time ran out, but he didn't get fouled and the shot was short.

    WSU by one.

    Terrible week for ASU.

UofA looked damn good against Washington.

Sorry about that, 93Devil. Every good win for Herb sticks it to his idiot critics back East.

Thing is, NCSU actually got its act together and beat Florida State in Tallahassee. A team that couldn't beat freaking Georgia Tech at home pulls that off? Oh boy ... the roller coaster ride is stuck on afterburner ...

Many relevant coaches would touch it for $5 million a year.

That's the number that will supposedly convince Calipari to head to Jamaica, Queens.

    We shall see...

Do you think St. John's would open its coffers and give Cal $5 mil? And how can St. John's administration couch a potential Cal hire to Carnesecca? I can't imagine that he'd be pleased with such a move.
