Duke needed a major halftime adjustment offensively and a rally to turn back the Terps (sorry, Headbutt).

Mike Krzyzewski could see the same formula for Maryland that keyed its win over Chapel Hill. Devils started going inside to start the second half, immediately got back in the game and held on for dear life.

Gary Williams clearly has the Terps turning the corner, which means they'll be a pain in the butt for every other team the rest of the year. Same old Maryland ...

I've been on the young Gators bandwagon for weeks, even on this site. No one will want any part of those guys in the tournament.

Little guys throwing it down is one of my favorite parts of basketball.

Just imagine if the Tide had a basketball coach...

I do not like the Wolverines, Sam I am.

  8. I'll wait to see how they play on the road. Out of 21 games, they've played 17 at home, I believe.

You don't have to wait long. At Arkansas on Feb. 2 and at Tennessee on Feb. 5.

That was a great read. Has it really been five years since Self came to Lawrence? Guess so -- two Elite Eights, two first-round upsets. Time flies, I suppose.

Several teams in the SEC are having make-or-break stretches coming up. Florida's on the road twice against quality teams; Miss. St. hosts Tennessee after traveling to Arkansas; and Kentucky, which seems to be on the mend, goes to Georgia and Auburn and hosts Alabama.

The Cats have a lot of ground to make up if they want to play after the SEC tournament, but a 3-0 stretch over the next two weeks would get them to 6-2 in the SEC and really help, especially while UT and UF are fighting tougher foes. UK's tournament hopes seem contingent on finishing at 11-5 or better in the SEC and getting deep in the conference tourney, and earning one of the top two seeds would help the Cats.

By next Wednesday, either Florida or Tennessee could be running away with the East, or those two and Kentucky could be in a tie for first. Meanwhile, Miss. St. has a chance to all but lock up the West.
