I know. I just like making fun of Vandy, which isn't too hard.

I'm as big a Shan Foster fan as there is, and I think it's commendable what Stallings has done there given the natural limitations. But Vanderbilt just isn't very good.

I think I saw during the UK-Vandy game the other week that Vandy is just 2-for-forever in Rupp Arena. How do you not luck into more than two wins in 30-plus years?

Pshaw ... Clemson hasn't won in Chapel Hill and that's a streak that has gone on for more than 50 years.

I didn't get a chance to see this one, but I kept an eye on the score at work. I'll be curious to sit down and watch some of the highlights now that I'm home, but I'm not too stressed about this one. If K-State were to ever end this streak, this was it, with the No. 1 pick in next year's NBA draft in Manhattan.

Besides, it's not like KU was going to go 40-0. The Jayhawks had to lose at some point. (Though I must admit, I was starting to have some thoughts at a UNLV-like run, which would have been fun.)

The '76 Hoosiers are one step closer to breaking out the champagne... Oh, wait... I guess that's and NFL thing.

I was in Manhattan tonight. I've been in a lot of loud basketball arenas, including some very, very big games in a large number of states.
Never have I come home from a game and still had ringing ears -- until tonight. And that game ended around 9 p.m. CST.
Either K-State was piping noise into Bramlage or the fans were all on X.

Yeah, Arkansas got really lucky and nipped State by 20 at Bud Walton.

Seriously though, look around, the SEC West is suddenly tight again.
Gonna be interesting February, as always, in leagues everywhere.

Any ideas on what Bramlage seats?

They said it was a sellout, with 12,928 in house.....I thought for sure it seated well more than that.

I never knew Memphis shot 58 percent as a team from the free-throw line. Wow.

That will come back to haunt Cal and his bunch in the NCAAs. But because of that powerhouse league that Memphis plays in, it's doubtful that anyone will make the Tigers pay for that little weakness before then.

Possibly when Memphis faces Tennessee on Feb. 23, which is one of only three double-digit RPI teams the Tigers will face the rest of the regular season (the others are No 81 Houston and No. 83 UAB). The ACC isn't all that deep this season and only two of its teams have lower RPIs (No. 85 Boston College and No. 113 Virginia.)

Tennessee did beat the hell out of Memphis last year, but that was in Knoxville. But that UT team didn't have Tyler Smith, and that Memphis team didn't have Rose, so who knows? Regardless, that's the only team that can beat Memphis before the postseason, in all likelihood. Houston was supposed to have a decent chance, per some people who follow that abomination of a league.

That's pretty accurate. There certainly weren't more than a handful of empty seats.
