And FSU takes North Carolina to overtime on a 3 by Ryan Reid on the first 3-point attempt of his college career. More importantly, though, Ty Lawson has been out for most of the game with an ankle injury.

Wow, spinning27 goes from arguing that free throws make little difference to arguing in the other direction. Thanks for reinforcing the argument, Fenian.

Well, now that the NFL season is over (thank God), we can fully move on to college basketball -- the best sport on Earth.

Agreed. All week I've been more excited for the Duke-UNC game on Wednesday than the SB.

I saw the replay of the game on BTN late last night. Lickliter is winning me over every game with his coaching. He coaches the kids up to play better than what they look on paper.

Sparty won't get past the second round of the Big Dance.

I couldn't agree more in loving the fact that the NFL season is over and the first UNC-Duke game is Wednesday.

Ty Lawson has a high ankle sprain, though, and there's no guarantee he'll be able to play on Wednesday. Without him for most of the Florida State game, UNC had a hard time getting into Hansbrough (don't let Tyler's final numbers fool you). Quentin Thomas has improved a lot, but this is a much different team with Thomas running the show instead of Lawson. A similar performance vs. Duke on Wednesday and the Blue Devils might win comfortably.

Yea, that injury could prove huge if it lingers. As much as I hate to say it, I'd rather Lawson rest up and get back to 100 percent than try to play him against Duke and make it worse.

I know it's coming against Missouri -- a team that might have blown its wad on Saturday against K-State -- but Kansas freshman Cole Aldrich is making himself look like a pretty solid big man tonight. In 12 minutes, he's got 9 rebounds. He's only got 6 points (4-4 FT), but it's not like Kansas really needs him to score. Especially when either Arthur or Jackson are in with Aldrich, he seems to play pretty damn well.

Good night for Cole Aldrich. He's going to be a fine player, and is already excellent defensively.

The best news about the Border War (other than the result) was Brandon Rush's play. Really coming around. The T-shirt love (Columbia - Keeping Lawrence safe from ugly women since 1863) was great too.

The worst? Sherron Collins. He's nothing like he was last year when he was quite possibly Kansas' best player in Big 12 play.

Oh and Keon Lawrence? That dude can play.
