    G-Webb starting out against UConn.

    They look totally overmatched athletically.

true, but the refs aren't helping them out. Got to love the ones that make themselves a part of the game, calling 12 total fouls in the first 5 minutes (8 on GWU)

The G-Webb kids sure do push off a lot with the weak hand, hook and drop their shoulder.

Teams don't seem to be adjusting to the refs.

And Memphis posts an uninspiring victory over Oklahoma. The Sooners didn't look too bad, though.

Sets up an interesting matchup tomorrow -- Memphis/UConn.

Athletes vs. athletes. Dickhead coach vs. dickhead coach.

    Who wins?

  5. Dickie V told us about how these were just two great guys who really want to win.
Is it too early in the season for him to be making me vomit?

Who cares because it's a lose-lose situation. Either way you have a dickhead coach winning.

That OU-Memphis game started out pretty good, but the longer it went on the more boring it got. I think Memphis is a bit overrated.

    There goes that theory

    Mississippi State's home streak snapped
    THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

STARKVILLE --Freshman Terrence Oglesby scored 17 points and hit two key free throws Thursday night as Clemson beat Mississippi State 84-82.
Clemson (2-0) went to the foul line 38 times as the Tigers snapped Mississippi State's eight-game home winning streak.
The teams were tied 71-71 late before Clemson hit three free throws, including two by Oglesby, to gain separation from Mississippi State (1-1).
K.C. Rivers had 17 points for the Tigers, along with seven rebounds. James Mays scored 14 and Cliff Hammonds added 13.
Mississippi State's Jamont Gordon had 23 points and 12 rebounds and Charles Rhodes had 17 points, seven rebounds and four blocks. Barry Stewart added 12 points and Brian Johnson scored 10.
Clemson, however, forced 19 Mississippi State turnovers, made 28 of 38 free-throw attempts and hit eight 3-pointers - one more than the Bulldogs.

Washington State continues its brutal early season schedule tonight, hosting Idaho.

So far they've played Eastern Washington and Boise State.

I know the Cougs came out of nowhere last year, but man does their schedule suck.

Looking at the Sagarins and I found a new category to throw in with the directional schools and the hyphenated schools: The general geographical school ... namely USC-Upstate. WTF?

That's actually not that bad, compared to some of the others floating around.

It's also the way of the world these days in college hoops. The Pac-10 conference season is such a grind that teams don't want to play an overly taxing non-conference schedule.

Considering the strength of the Pac-10, Wazzu's RPI will be plenty high come the end of the season. Playing -- and perhaps losing to -- a couple more 'name' schools early in the season won't help them in the long run.

    I'm not a fan...I'm just sayin'...

    I think ASU-West scheduled them for a home-and-home.
