Well, Nova wasn't ahead. So the Rutgers ruling was worse. Nova may have lost in overtime, but the 'Cats at least deserved that chance.

  2. One more question for the NCAA. Now that you're making a couple of billion off the tournament, how about firing some of these 300-year old incompetents and hiring referees who know a) the rules, and b) why they're on the fucking floor.
    God, I hate college referees.

The Big East won't technically be allowed to do anything to that official for a poor judgement call, correct?

At the least, that guy's contract shouldn't be renewed. Horrendous call. Horrendous. How in the hell do you make that call?

  4. I gave up when I saw Ted Valentine last weekend.
That guy T'd up Naismith, I swear.

Agreed. I see some of these guys working games (Jim Burr, Tim Higgins and Ted Hillary come to mind), and I don't know how they work as many games as they do.

I love covering games with Ted working, because you'll see shitty calls that you've never seen before.

My guess is the ref didn't realize how little time was remaining. If that happens in the middle of the game, you have to call it because the defender forced the player out of bounds. But, obviously, not with no time left. The ref needs to know the situation better.

When Valentine sprinted across the floor last week to flash the 'T' sign in a Tennessee player's four times last week, I hoped a player would punch him in the face. Some player. Any player.

Did he really force him out of bounds? I can't say for sure that he did. I'm not sure he initiated any of the contact.

    He nudged him slightly.

Fair enough. I couldn't (and still can't) tell.

  12. KNOW WHY YOU'RE ON THE FLOOR.
