I agree with this 99.9% of the time. Bitching about the refs is almost always fanboy loser shit, but in that instance, while your point about not putting yourself in that spot is correct, that was an egregious example of not letting the players decide the game.

Uh, uh . . . but many officials have their personal modus operandi/quirks (call loose/call tight/grudges against specific players/coaches) that you overlook, at the risk of being convincted of terminal naivete.

    Especially in the NFL . . .

I agree. It was a bad call and it shouldn't have been made.

But like I said, whether that call is made or not, all 'Nova had to do to win the game was shoot one shot better than 25 percent.

Or maybe the Cats could have gotten a call on Rivers, who rode Reynolds for several seconds prior to the last foul, thus preventing Nova from getting off a shot.

But no call was made because the refs want the players to decide the outcome.

Too bad Mr. Moron, who could have called a foul on Rivers but didn't, opted to ignore that stance in the final tenth of a second.

Another shining moment for Big East athletics. ::)

I'm not saying it was the right call. Just saying there's more 'Nova could have done earlier where to make that call a non-factor. If you shoot 25 percent against a top ten team, you have no business winning anyway. So in essence, the call didn't cost the 'Cats the game. It came at a crucial time, but missing 3 out of every 4 shots probably had a slightly larger impact than that call.

I give props to Wright for not going ape shit, though.

I'm quoting it, cut and pasting it into my email and committing this to memory Clockwork Orange style. Needless to say, I will remember.

We can make some sort of bet, if you're actually trying to get $20. Why should I just give you $20?

They're the most talented team in the country this year, hence they should go all the way.

This is like that Rick James thing on Chappelle's Show.

"I did not put my feet on his couch ... hell yes I put my feet on his couch."

Well, since you brought it up (and as much as I hate to pull against Kansas), I'll gladly pay $20 to see them win it all.
Get someone to vouch for you -- sure it won't be any problem getting someone to do the same for me -- and we're on.

Might be splitting hairs here, but there are a handful of teams with as much as Kansas, in my opinion. No one definitely has more, though, at least to my ignorant eye.

That's something about this season that should make March exciting. The disparity between the top tier teams like Memphis, UNC, UCLA, Kansas is so miniscule that a Stanford, Connecticut, Texas, TAMU, hell even Xavier could just as easily make the Final Four.

And now that I have written that, the Final Four is going to be all one seeds :D

I was at that game against Baylor (Allen Fieldhouse is amazing; much better than Pauley Pavilion and Assembly Hall). Wasn't the first time I've watched KU this year. KU has a tendency to play some disjointed basketball, and I don't think their group of athletes is disciplined enough to go all the way.

I'll bet you Kansas does not win the national title.
