As could Duke, Tennessee and Georgetown.

All I think I know for sure is that no Big Ten team will get to San Antonio.

Agreed on all counts. I wouldn't even be surprised by a Louisville or USC getting hot and making the Final Four. As for the Big 10, that conference is so ugly this year. White and Gordon are great at IU, but there's not much around them. Michigan State is the only one I could see sniffing San Antonio because Izzo is such a great coach.

Arkansas is the team that kills me. Five post players 6-8 or taller (none of whom suck), a 6-6 wing in Sonny Weems who will play in the NBA, and four really athletic guards who can shoot, score or both. Beverley is 6-1 and averages 11 rebounds in SEC play.

Pelphrey can coach, though, and they've been great the past two weeks. I think they've turned a corner, and that's a Sweet Sixteen (or better) team if it plays like it should. Don't be fooled if the Hogs get drilled in Knoxville tomorrow — Pearl is 41-2 there — and don't forget about them. All that team needed was a coach.

    Interesting score ...

    Wisconsin-Milwaukee 51, Butler 47 ... 9-plus left.

Yes, but a Big 10 team "on the rise" will beat an SEC team that just narrowly missed the NCAAs in the NIT because of a late choke and we'll hear about how much better THE BIG 10 is.

The "great coach's" team has scored 50 points with a minute and change left in the game. That 34-point turd they laid earlier in the season wasn't a fluke.

Sometimes these "defensive gurus" get so wrapped up in how noble and morally upright and superior they are, and forget that you have to score some points sometimes to win a game.

Regardless of the sport, camera shots of Vanderbilt's student section are always fun. I want to be like Ogre and yell "NERDS ... NERDS ... NERDS."

One of my favorite scenes of the past few years was Vandy beating Florida last year in Nashville, and a 5-foot-nothing, 100-nothing-pound, 14-year-old-looking Vanderbilt student running across the floor to celebrate. He wore his backpack to the game. Classic Vandy. I froze the shot but couldn't tell if he had a pocket protector...

I assume you haven't Purdue play this season, cuz the Boilers are the league's best team.

    This is absolutely staggering.
37-8 now. 3:39 left in the first half. Guess that last-second win over SoCar over the weekend fueled something.
