They were a tough out the second half of last year. No matter, the way the conference is this year, two wins might be all they get again. I love the way Sendek coaches defense and in the bigger picture love that the whole damn Pac-10 has upped its defensive game.

If Kevin Love was just a few inches shorter and had a barbwire tat on his bicep, he'd be that 6-foot-5 guy at the YMCA who scored like 25 points a game for his small-school, high school basketball team and talked a lot of shit and thought he could play in the NBA.

 

Yeah, except he's 6-foot-8 1/2 with a strong body, a nose for rebounds, a soft touch in the paint and on the perimeter and an excellent passer.
Other than that, he's totally that guy.

 

I don't think Hammer was saying he is that guy at the YMCA, he was saying if Love was shorter then he would be that guy.

At any rate, UCLA is putting together a much better second half and is within five at 43-38.
