from reading about him, isn't Hickson some sort of badass and McCauley just some softie?

J.J. Hickson is a name recruit who is getting it done offensively, but while not his fault, he could be disrupting the chemistry Brandon Costner and Ben McCauley built last year when there were no other post alternatives.

Ben McCauley no more looked the part of a stud Atlantic Coast Conference player starting last year, but he worked his butt off and played with enough energy to power a small town. Unless he got a big head since the end of last season, he's earned his stripes.

Again, Gavin Grant's remarks wouldn't have emerged with a coach like Herb Sendek. I like Sidney Lowe, but he really needs to nip this issue in the bud. Now.

The Pack is losing to Rider at halftime. In N.C. State gets upset here after losing to New Orleans, those rational Wolfpack fans aren't going to be happy.

NCSU pulled this game out - barely. Thank you, Courtney Fells.

    Damn WWL.

I check in on College Gameday, the hoops edition, and what do I get? NFL recaps, talk about the fab freshmen in hoops, a live USC-ASU football update, Tori Hunter and Mike Singletary news and a bunch of ESPN promos.

GIMME SOME DAMN HOOPS RECAPS! (Or another slice of the pumpkin pie that has disappeared.)

  7. I saw Sabonis come in as a teenager to Bloomington and light Indiana on fire. He looked like a 7-2 Larry Bird.
Meanwhile, I would like Coach K to shut up now.

Damn good game on the Deuce: USC 55, Miami of Ohio 53, with 19.6 seconds remaining in the second half. Miami ball.

When I said "Baby Sabonis" I was more referring to what Sabonis was like in his later years with the Blazers. Big, big dude with passing skills and shooting range.

There are a lot of people who will seriously tell you that prior to his leg injuries and packing on about 80 pounds of extra weight, Sabonis was the greatest basketball player who ever lived.
