    See, but at least in Tuscaloosa his power-shopping wife is an hour from good places to burn his money in Mountain Brook and Hoover ... Is there a paved road out of Happy Valley?

    Had to happen. Can't be easy for Al to fire his own son. I suspect he was nudged from higher on up to do so.

    Timing of it was interesting...for all of Mike's playcalling foibles, he was one of the staff's best recruiters. Al's hands must really be tied if they're making him pull him off the road now.

    Mullen taking off makes me think Charlie Strong sticks around for another year or two. History tells me he's still interested in the South Carolina gig when Spurrier leaves.

    Mullen will be introduced tomorrow in Starkville. He's from a winning program and been with Meyer for eight years. He'll find there is a big difference between Starkville and Gainesville.
