Skip Holtz apparently staying put, or at least not leaving for Syracuse.

I saw something on Muschamp to Auburn last night (either on CNN or the WWL), but I haven't seen it anywhere else.

Muschamp is vehemently denying those reports this morning ...

I don't doubt there was contact, but doesn't look like it's going to happen. (Yeah, I know, Nick Saban).

On the plus side, they did interview Gene Chizik. I know he's at Iowa State, but 5-17 is still 5-17.

According to an Auburn alum I know who is one of the few that isn't a rabid fanboiloser type, it turned into Amateur Hour within the Auburn media.

Three different outlets are reporting three different coaches have been offered the job.

    One is reporting Will Muschamp.

    One is reporting Steve Spurrier.

    One is reporting Gary Patterson.

The Chizik thing actually makes sense. He was Auburn's DC the year they went 13-0.

None of that's coming from Woodbery or Goldberg, is it?

  7. Nope.

Interpretation: Syracuse wasn't that interested in hiring Skip Holtz.

    Like I said, Amateur Hour.

My guess is Gill is holding out for a better offer.

Staying at Buffalo qualifies as a better offer compared to Syracuse.

Mobile TV reported Muschamp WOULD BE NAMED today. Obviously, not true.

Montgomery TV reported Spurrier might be offered the job. Could be true, but probably not.

Never saw the Patterson report about an offer, just that he'd interviewed.

And yeah, I knew Chizik used to be at Auburn. But that doesn't change the fact that he's been a spectacular failure as a head coach.
