    UCLA is a very good job, too good for someone that left his last gig under shady circumstances and hadn't demonstrated he can run a clean program in the interim. I realize UCLA needed to make a splash, but there are dozens of coaches out there who have run clean programs and done it the right way, a few have even been very successful. Let's be honest, the bar is set a lot lower for white coaches.

    As an outsider, I can give you a perfect example of how down Oklahoma was during that time: The Sooners came to San Diego to play the Aztecs in the mid-to-late 90s, a year or two after Marshall Faulk left. SDSU beat them pretty handily (I believe the final score was 38-21), and nobody at the time was very surprised.
