The easiest solution is have a "plus one" game one week later.

    Rose: Ohio State vs. USC
    Sugar: Florida vs. Louisville/Rutgers
    Fiesta: Nebraska/Oklahoma vs. Boise State
Orange: Notre Dame vs. Wake Forest

Take the best two among the bowl winners.

Really, you could make the case of FIVE one-loss teams if you don't count Oklahoma's phantom "loss" against Oregon.

Nice cutback by the Florida RB for a long TD.

Redd, as in Michael Redd. Or Vida Blue.

I don't think I would beat Percy Harvin in a sprint.

That kid's going to terrorize the SEC for two more seasons.

The problem with having a "plus one" game is it would render the bowls even more meaningless.
Also, if Rutgers wins, Louisville gets left out of the BCS.

So if the winners of your scenario are USC, Florida, Nebraska and Notre Dame, where do Michigan and Louisville factor in?
The "Plus One" championship would be USC (2 loses) vs. Florida (one loss)?

You'd have to somehow avoid bowl tie-ins and have a 1 vs. 4, 2 vs. 3 scenario ... and if you're going that far, why not have a playoff?

Since when are the bowls meaningful?

Aside from the BCS title game, they are meaningless. Unless you're a 7-5 coach needing to score a win to appease the boosters.

The bowls already are meaningless. The championship game is a game called the BCS title game.

And you're right, I was still in my current bowl alignment. Try these then have a plus-one.

    Rose: Ohio State vs. USC
    Sugar: Florida vs. Michigan
    Fiesta: Nebraska/Oklahoma vs. Boise State
    Orange: Louisville/Rutgers vs. Wake Forest

They may be meaningless, but they allow the BCS conferences to hoard the revenue. And that's all that really matters to them.

Arkansas with a lateral followed by a pass for a TD.

Has the Arkansas QB thrown a TD pass in this game? One was by McFadden, the other by a WR.

Edit: Yes, he has. He threw a long TD pass in the first half. Forgot about it.
