Wait I thought you were routing for the demise of football. What are you doing
watching and commenting on it. You might convince more kids to play.

Your Boom-trolling doesn't work on me, Boom. Let's move on.

Clowney looks like he cramped up. He'll be fine. Fresno and Ole Miss wins were fun last night.

One thing I took from the Ole Miss game is that Bo Wallace won't last four games if he doesn't learn how to slide on running plays. They do have a better-than-average back-up in Barry Brunetti, but if I'm a Confederates fan, I'd like to see my starting QB exhibit a little more prudence.

He plays for South Carolina. It's going to be humid all the way to Thanksgiving. If you are going to play for a southern team, part of it is dealing with the conditions, just like northern teams have to be able to play in the cold, snow and wind.

The thing about a defensive lineman dominating is that offensive coaches can take a good defensive player out of the game by double-teaming, running away from him, etc. That's why it's harder for them to win, say, the Heisman. He's going to have games where he doesn't put up big numbers because of the schemes and calls used by his opponents.

You do that quite well on your own.

And it's a fair issue to discuss. These are supposed to be students. When they're playing on a weeknight, how are they expected to be normal students when they have to miss three days of classes, especially if you're the road team?

It could be somewhat related to the fact that Rutgers hasn't started school yet. But I'm just guessing.

So college basketball should only play on Saturdays and Sundays, as in the Ivy League?

And baseball should just, well, give up?

Quick mod suggestion: Shouldn't we change the header to reflect a weekly thread, as opposed to one long thread for the whole season?

Baron's got a point. If the powers that be want to limit games to Saturday, fine with me. But over the last 20 years, major college ball has gotten to be almost semi-pro and there's so much money involved from TV, that, well, I'm not holding my breath.

Fine by me either way. Although I noticed the Major League Baseball thread is now several months old and 150+ pages, so it wouldn't be unprecedented.
