Especially in this era of passing camps. HS programs are throwing the ball 35 times a game.

Perhaps Beamer wants no part of it. Perhaps he can't find a passing QB who does.

While tOSU defense probably had something to do with it, once Brewer went down, I felt Tech would have been better off running Wildcat with Ronnie brown.

Can't stop watching that Miller spin move. Absolutely a thing of beauty.

Late to the party from the weekend.
TCU looked rather pedestrian against a bottom tier BIG 11TEEN team.
If Oregon is going to plan on winning every game 61-42, then that will make them even more fun to watch.
Baylor could have easily scored 90 on SMU.
After watching 1 series of Stanford-Northwestern Saturday morning, I wanted to gouge my eyes out with a paperclip.
Urban Meyer seems to becoming more and more of a prick with each game.

No, I've been watching CFB for 35 years or so. I'm also basing that statement on the 3 games last year, and the first 3 drives last night.

I fell asleep at halftime so not sure how he played during that stretch. I saw his stats -- 186 yards and 2 TDs passing, 100 yards and a TD rushing. Look at the first 2 drives. The first one was gorgeous and unstoppable and he ended it with a TD pass while scrambling away from pressure. The second drive was Elliott's 80-yard TD run on the first play and isn't part of this discussion. The third drive was a touchdown on Cardale's perfect read on the option -- he saw the sliver and burst through it for the score untouched before it was called back for holding. Would've made it 21-0 and ballgame. Instead the offense stalled and the kicker missed a FG, which turned the tide and the Hokies ended up scoring 17 points, which had nothing to do with Cardale, even when their first TD drive began after his interception -- on a ball that was tipped.

Ohio State gets the ball first after halftime and Cardale throws a 54-yard TD pass to give the Bucks the lead again. He later ran for a TD to make it 35-17.

Was he out of this world great last night? No. But it was also his first true road game in a madly hostile environment so 186-100-3 is pretty damn good.

Whether going 9 for 18 for 186 yards, 99 rushing, 1 INT, is "pretty damn good" is a highly debatable statement, but certainly not debatable is that's not the type of performance one would expect to cause someone to declare him one of the select few most enjoyable players to watch in his lifetime. Nor do I recall any specific individual play by him to inspire such dramatic words, hence why I was curious about that odd statement. But whatever...

fwiw, there was an OSU player who made my jaw drop a couple times in that game, but his name was Braxton Miller, not Jones.

Great, Miller made a spin move.

Give him the Heisman right now.

He also caught a touchdown pass thrown by some loser of a pedestrian at QB who sucks because he doesn't make jaws drop.

Songbird is having a Grayson Allen moment.

Jesus christ, Songbird, are you ever logic-impaired. You know, there's an ENORMOUS gap between "loser pedestrian" and "one of few most enjoyable players to watch in my lifetime." Only one of us ever suggested he was either of those things.

Jones reminds me of a fatter Cam Newton.

Actually, honey, I'm quite logically cogent.

I'm more baffled by your insistence to shit on a statement for the fucking sake of shitting on a statement ...

OH MY GOD, SONGBIRD SAID THAT A QUARTERBACK IS ONE OF THE BEST HE'S EVER WATCHED BUT THE GUY HAS PLAYED ONLY 4 GAMES! WHAT POSSIBLY COULD HE HAVE SEEN (!!11!!1) IN ONE GAME AGAINST VIRGINIA TECH (VIRGINIA TECH FOR GOD'S SAKE!!11!11) TO WARRANT SUCH A POST LIKE THAT?!?11!!? OH MY GOD, HOW THE FUCK COULD SONGBIRD SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT ABOUT A GUY WHO ONLY HAS 4 COLLEGE STARTS UNDER HIS BELT?!!11!!??

... and then I remember that Stoney likes to fucking shit all over harmless statements because Stoney knows all and Stoney's the the best and Stoney is the supreme poster in all of SJ'ville and when another poster says he loves a player/team/moment etc etc, there's Stoney to come along and shit all over the moment because Stoney is Stoney and Stoney just loves to shit on innocuous posts for the sake of Stoney'ness.

I'll check my logic skills when you check your douchebag factor at the door.

    And have a nice day.

Well, responding with a 3rd grade level temper tantrum undoubtedly disproves me. I take it all back, you plainly have wonderful logic skills.

Yeah, that's what it is, Stoney, a temper tantrum. Perhaps you should read between the lines.

And I wasn't trying to "disprove" you.

What I should have done is agree with you: Braxton Miller was the hero of the game last night. Man, that was a sweet video game spin move.
