Kizer is clearly the better option. Why is Brian Kelly willing to risk a loss keeping a kid happy? "Go play intramurals, brother."

 

True freshman starting QBs are a relatively recent phenomenon, mainly since top recruits routinely started enrolling in January of their senior year of high school in the last decade or so.

To my knowledge, Alabama has only started a true freshman QB once since World War II (Vince Sutton in 1984), and that was only as an emergency injury replacement and only lasted one game. Of course, that's liable to change next week.

 

Torii Hunter, born all of four months before I was, has a kid playing college football. I feel elderly.

 

Make that 2 TD passes for Kizer.

Kelly's bringing in the third-stringer for the next drive.
