If Washington wins out, I think they deserve to be in, too. We'll see what the playoff pickin' committee thinks, though.

And the thought of one-loss Ohio State getting into the playoff instead of, say, Big 10 champs Penn State or Wisconsin is blowing my pizza-and-beer-addled mind ...

Yet there will be those who will try to link Bama over USC and USC over Washington. Not that you can, of course.

Penn State has a better shot against Wisconsin than it did against Ohio State.

I'm not watching, only looking at PBP by phone, but why did Michigan pass (incomplete) after Iowa used its last timeout?

Iowa still had one timeout. It turned out the Hawkeyes would have had plenty of time to kill the clock for the game-winning FG.

Penn State is playing way better than expected given they have a first year offensive coordinator. That said, aside from Michigan and Ohio State their schedule isn't exactly murders row. They ducked Wisconsin and Nebraska in conference and the toughest OOC opponent was us, which isn't exactly saying much. That said, they're pounding the ball on people, which is what you should do to inferior teams.

Congrats Coco! My wife is always quite happy, since she did her grad work at Iowa.

I'm enjoying watching my Cougs pound Cal. They're going to be 7-0 in conference play for the first time ever.
Then next week at Boulder, which will be one of the best Pac-12 games of the year. No one saw that coming.

I didn't post it here as I was too busy playing political science analyst.

Iowa +22 looked like free money.

Had no thought they'd actually win. Yikes.

    So, let's see ...

    Alabama wins out.

    Clemson wins out.

Washington loses to Washington State, and Wazzu goes on to win the PAC-12 title.

Ohio State wins out, but so does Penn State. Nittany Lions win tiebreaker for Big Ten East title.

Wisconsin wins its next 2 & is Big Ten West champion.

Oklahoma wins out & wins the Big 12.

    Your Final 4 is ...

Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and ... the Wisconsin/Penn State winner?

You'd have some pissed off Louisville fans, but conference championships matter.

On the other hand, Oklahoma would have a conference title and be left out. However, it lost head-to-head (at home) to Ohio State.

Washington State would also have a conference title, but is probably not getting in with an FCS loss on its resume.

USC isn't going to lose again (UCLA, Notre Dame) and is still very much in the Pac-12 hunt. We'll see what kind of brass Colorado has.
