I don't disagree. Fritz was very good at the FCS level before making his move.

If KU plays its cards right, it hires the successful Tulane coach, finishes in the top half of the conference for, oh, 6-8 years. Then they fire the coach mid-year, promote the aww shucks assistant from interim to head coach, then about 6-8 years later become a CFP regular. Hey, it’s happened before.

JUCO to FCS to Sun Belt to the American. Steadily climbed the ladder and did well everywhere.

As if there weren't enough reasons to mock and despise that guy.

Seems like P5 teams don't have many good out-of-conference wins this year, though I don't know how it compares with other years. Purdue over BC, Arizona State over Michigan State, & Maryland over Texas are the three wins over the (currently) highest-ranked out-of-conference teams. I like to ignore a conference's wins against unranked non-P5 teams; looking at it that way, the SEC has the best record:

SEC 6 wins over ranked or P5 teams, 3 losses to those teams, 2 Arkansas losses to unranked non-P5 teams
    Big 10 7-7-6
    Big 12 4-6-1
    Pac 12 3-5-6
ACC 3-11-3, with 4 of the losses being to Notre Dame

Notre Dame (7-0 against P5 schools) is most of the reason the conferences' total wins & losses vs. ranked-or-P5 teams don't balance, along with Pitt losing to UCF and Wisconsin losing to a then-ranked BYU.

The SEC's wins don't look all that impressive, though LSU over Miami and Auburn over Washington looked better at the time. The 3 losses by middling-to-poor SEC teams almost look more impressive - Vanderbilt giving Notre Dame a close call, Texas A&M losing to Clemson by 2, and Tennessee getting blown out by West Virginia.

Still some opportunities to kill it at the window.

UAB plus-16 at Texas A&M is juicy.

I like Georgia minus-44 vs. UMass (or perhaps the more reasonable 25-30 point first-half line). Same with Alabama and The Citadel (minus-51), and Utah State minus-27/over 68 1/2 vs. a Colorado State team that can't stop anybody. Utah State might be the best team you haven't heard a peep about this season.

Rutgers plus-27 against a middling Penn State team is intriguing. Rutgers sucks, but they've had a pulse lately. They're 3-0 ATS the last three weeks, all on 20-plus point spreads vs. decent teams. If it gets over 28 it might be worth taking.

I remember when he was defending "a kid" urging people to "come after" him - since he was a man.

"And that article, had to have been written by a person that doesn't have a child. And has never had a child that's had their heart broken and come home... upset. And had to deal with the child when he is upset. And kick a person when he's down.

Your child goes down the street, and somebody makes fun of him, because he dropped a pass in a pick-up game, or says he's fat, and he comes home crying to his mom, you'd understand. But you don't have that. But someday, you will. And when your child comes home, you'll understand."

Seriously. When are they kids that need to be defended and when are they kids that need to toughen up? Make up your mind.

So how many players is Mike Gundy recruiting in Texas and Oklahoma that come from “liberal” homes and parents? None of the white ones. I’ll tell you that much. Which leaves us...

This season has been such a fucking colossal bore. The inevitability of Alabama making it to the playoff, where they'll beat the brakes off anyone they face. Just isn't doing it for me.

Put GT on your list. Zero chance UVA’s cadre of freshmen and washouts on the D-line can slow the option down. Eli Hanback can’t do it himself.
