There seem to be a ton of people in this country who thought, "Hey, I think I'll run for public office/become president of a university because it'll look good on my resume" and never assumed they be in a position to do anything but cut ribbons and attend school graduations. And a bigger group of people who said, "Yeah, I'll vote for that person because they look like they'd be good at cutting ribbons or attending school graduations."

Actually having to make unpopular decisions for the benefit of the general population in the midst of a health crisis, instead of your special interests or booster parents? Boy, that never seemed to enter anybody's mind. And it shows.

    Love the comments:
"They're false positives. Tech needs to get a new lab."
"They're all young and healthy. They'll get over it."

Big thing TT has apparently declined to reveal: the number of those in quarantine as a result of close contact with the new cases.
If you've got 21 active cases, that's one of every four scholarship players (if all the infected are scholarship recipients) and one of every five if we're talking about the entire roster.
Reminder: They haven't played a game yet. Their opener is scheduled to be against something called Houston Baptist on Sept. 12. Does anybody really think Houston Baptist is testing according to Big 12 standards? The following week is open for the Raiders. I'm guessing it is for the Baptists as well. I'm further guessing that Sept. 19 date will be the day of the actual game.

This is one of the great clusterfucks of current time.

    Coaches Poll changes
Moving forward only Coach voters from teams playing in the fall will be eligible to cast Top 25 ballots. Of the 65 coaches that voted in the pre-season poll, 42 are with schools playing in the fall. Assuming they don't add additional voters, here is the conference break-down for the fall season:

    P3:
    ACC - 9
    SEC - 7
    B12 - 6

    G3:
    CUSA - 7
    AAC - 6
    SBC - 5
    IND - 2

Of course it varies. All depends on how much risk you want to take on.

    Easy answer: When you can't practice 11 v 11.

    Or 7 v 7.

I'm guessing he figures that if he quits, somebody else will replace him and the show will go on. Because Alabama.
I have respect for this guy. I'd have even more if he decided he won't be associated with this disaster by being the guy who sends them into untested battle.
Have the high schools hired Lionel Hutz as their legal counsel? We know they won't be immune from the Trumpandemic; but will they be immune from litigation?
