Mississippi (and to a lesser extent Kansas) generally has the majority of the higher end JUCO transfers whether they are coming from high school or bounce backs from their first FBS program so it would make sense for them to try to play earlier since the SEC, ACC, AAC, Big 12, Sun Belt and C-USA are all looking for talent from those schools to get enrolled in January.

Plus I think the SEC helps MACJC with their bankroll. I've long held the stance that Buddy Stephens/EMCC gets a shit ton of financial kickbacks from SEC programs and that's why he stays at a shit hole like Scooba. Otherwise that school would've filed for bankruptcy based on their horrible finances.

The high cost of winning: EMCC athletics, football upkeep has outpaced revenue for most of last decade

If Delta State’s game vs. Scottsdale is cancelled by Corona, will they chant “Lettuce play?”

Damn near every male football fan in Texas knows about the Rangerettes.

I remember Lindsey Nelson making a fuss over them when they'd perform at the Cotton Bowl. I was 10. I became a fan.

Not COVID related, but a still a good read. Iowa football continues to have former Black athletes providing examples of how they were treated differently than white athletes:

Questioning The Iowa Way: Black players speak out on program's racial inequities

Full disclosure: As an Iowa graduate, this is not shocking when your campus has only 3 percent Black students among its overwhelmingly white student population. It's still not excusable. Coach Doyle should have been tossed out years and years ago, for many reasons.

The damning thing here is that Ferentz implied that only recently -- ie post George Floyd -- did he gather that there were racial problems in his program. The stuff coming out now suggests he knew or should have known about such problems years ago.

Yeah, it's hard not to notice when your star wide receiver is running laps around the practice field with a trash can on his head ...

And that was 10 years ago.

It took a virus to finally get ND off its ass and into a conference. How does that work with the NBC contract?

I think I saw a mention somewhere that the ACC and NDwND share revenues
