The latter. It wasn't scheduled to start until 8:15 CST.

Wrong band. That was The Smiths.

I’ve reconnected in the last few years with a former quiz bowl teammate from high school and she has dropped hints from time to time that she would be interested in something more than friendship. But then and now she had a goth/emo vibe and that was never my scene, as evidenced by the fact I can’t keep these bands straight.

I married into a goth/1980s shoe gazer band music collection.

I’ve learned to appreciate the Cure and a few songs by the Smiths.

Depeche Mode? No can do. (sorry @Songbird)

I used to want Pac-12 teams to win their bowls. Now, no interest in if they win or lose. Don't care who they're losing or getting in the portal. I'll still love college football, but those 10 teams are essentially dead to me. And one Big Ten team in particular can eat a bag of dicks for all I care.

Yeah, I'm petty and small. So be it.

Not a joke. According to Google Maps, there is only one station in Jefferson County.

I-20 almost to Hueytown. I might make that run, what the hell.

I hear the Troy fans have bought up a big chunk of the west side. It's not a horrible trip for the Duke fans, but they're going to be way outnumbered.

I’ve hated the Fat 10 for years so welcome.

No. I think the other two are at the stadium in Orlando with a rug (at least I hope so for reasons I think you'll understand).

The Cure Bowl is held at Central Florida's Bounce House.

The ESPNization of bowl season really seems to have deemphasized local involvement. Used to be civic interests would be all in on the local bowl game as a chance to gain some national attention - now it seems like the locals have zero interest, and one bowl game may as well be played at any other site for all it mattered. All I ask is for every bowl game to have ONE single unique thing about it. The more ridiculous the better.

Yep. Because ticket sales don’t matter.
