Last year there was something similar with Malik Nabers. He only needed a handful of receiving yards to get LSU's career record, so he played until he got it. Took him about a quarter and a half, then they pulled him and he was in street clothes by halftime.
There was some confusion and controversy, but Brian Kelly said it was the plan going in to pull Nabers as soon as he got the record.

Not helping is that NCSU has a tendency not to get up as much for this as ECU does. Worse, it turns into a media circus because someone always asks NCSU if ECU is a rival. NCSU downplays it, which triggers some ECU fans and inflames things.

But this isn't a media issue. This isn't between fans. This was a stupid fight on the field between players which left the umpire with a cut under his left eye and numerous ejections. That's off-the-charts stupid.

Worse, they're going to start next season against one another. Think this won't be brought up repeatedly between now and then, especially in the week or two heading into the game?

I can only hope Dave Doeren behaves as well in the postgame presser as Blake Harrell did on the field with WWL immediately after the game.

Several bowls seem to be doing that. The Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa fully embraced the pirate theme with the treasure map end zones and other pieces of flair.

That would ruin Pop-Tarts' ROI. They are owning the lesser bowls.

Right now Kiper has Sanders at 3 and Ward at 5 overall, with no other QBs in his top 25. I’d be hesitant to take Sanders - he has the physical tools but is a giant asshole. I’d feel better about Ward.

I assume we’re going to hear about a mediocre white QB rising up the boards so the Giants can take them. Carson Beck or Quinn Ewers.

    Not the first time.
Heck, last two games of the season ended in brawls.
(And the season got going with an ass-whoopin from Tennessee)

Not paying close enough attention, but is Beck's TJ surgery on his throwing elbow, or the other one?

    It’s his throwing arm.

I'm not sure anyone watched it, it ended up being a bad game, and I get some people may tire of Snoop Dogg everywhere, although you can't deny his self-marketing genius, but the Arizona Bowl ended up doing a lot of really nice things with his sponsorship.

He was everywhere before and during the game, all his theming was pretty cool like the field and using a 64 for numerous things, he even did a cool collab with both schools' bands. You know at least those directly involved very much enjoyed all that he brought to it. The game also had a record attendance, who knows how much the sponsorship played a role.

I am sure there is going to be a lot of marketing that doesn't stick, but this is how these bowls are going to stick around. Pop-Tarts clearly is the winner at this point but it is fun seeing some of these efforts.

I don’t have a dog in the fight whatsoever, but if Cam Ward really came out, played the first half, then said I’m done…….thats the chicken shittiest of the chicken shit.
As has been said……if you’re gonna opt out, then opt out. But to do it at halftime……nah……can’t do that.
Shadeur and Co. are getting their asses kicked by Jesus, Mary, Joseph and Whoever right now, and not a dang one of them are quitting on anyone.

At the risk of having to follow this with "get off my lawn," Dave Doeren needs to drop the hammer if they're going to continue to behave like this. Embarrassing.

(And if you really insist on stepping on my lawn, please take some of the leaves with you. Thanks in advance.)
