I mean, it's all a matter of where the money is being placed after the original line is set.

Sounds like a fine opportunity to middle per the gospel of @exmediahack.

I think the holiday part does play into the muted coverage. So does the NFL regular season reaching a climax and the longstanding notion among national sports types that “If it isn’t important in New York, it isn’t important.”

That's actually a good way for them to lose money if it's a close game. That's a huge swing that gives bettors a chance to cover both sides and make money. That's how @exmediahack put his kids through college.
It's also an unusually large swing for a game like this. You might see a line shift a point in either direction based on early action, or a bigger swing if there are key players who are injured or opted out. Especially in bowl season it's not unusual as the rosters change. In this case, I haven't seen either of those things. LSU had a couple of starters opt out or enter the portal, but so did Baylor. It doesn't seem to be a huge number or a significant enough factor for either team to flip the line on its head. I can't imagine a ton of people looked at this game in early December and loaded up on Baylor +3.

So if you want to keep it related to football, does LSU have a key player or three sitting out that I missed?

Penn State at Boise will be good football.

I'd like USC and Alabama and Notre Dame etc etc go up to play in Idaho.

Thought playoff games were at higher seed. Should be.

If Boise scores 10 points, I'll be stunned.

"This one's for all the potatoes!" doesn't have the same ring to it, I guess.

If America is betting against Brian Kelly, I'm good with that.

Penn State is a very solid football team with an elite edge rusher and a tight end who should go in the first round of the draft. But that’s not the same as an invincible juggernaut, which is how they are being billed this round. Something makes my Spidey sense tingle here.
