Is Gary Barta still the AD at Iowa? He was one great QB at NDSU, won at least one national title.

Excellent question. Putting the returner up to block the kick gives you a slightly better chance at a block, but it means you have no chance to do anything else. I don't think I have ever seen a game end on a punt that rolls and rolls until time expires.

 

Was roooting for Montana State where a friend works but the Bobcats have not been able to break through against North Dakota State. This might have been their best chance. The Bison have won five in a row in the last 7 or so years.

 

NDSU also had two years of 10-1 when transitioning to FCS from DII and was ineligible for the playoffs.

 

Excellent game. Probably better football game and certainly more enjoyable for a true college football fan than anything the so called elites will do.

 

I didn't understand this at all. An extra man to try and block the kick and feeling like that's your only chance? You have to have someone back there to call a fair catch and give you a play. Or even return it. Something more than letting the clock run out as the ball bounces around.

 

That's why they're coaching at Montana State instead of a better program.

 

Vigen will have an FBS job soon, probably after next season. I expect he could have had one this year had he pursued it.
