What's even worse is that had the Ohio State kicker made the FG, TCU would be No. 2 and Georgia No. 3.

Tennessee got one No. 2 vote. UAT, of course, got four.

And (my former colleague) Mike Berardino is nothing if not consistent. Every week this season he had the Vols ranked lower than every other writer. And so it is with the final poll, too.

I can’t figure out which is stupider: a preseason AP poll or a post-season AP Poll. It’s neck and neck.

    Definitely preseason.

And let us all bask in the dick riding of 18th ranked Notre Dame, clearly the finest 9-4 team in the land with its losses to Marshall at home and 3-9 Stanford. The AP poll never misses a chance to shill for them and Texas who…is 25th

I was wondering how long it was going to take you to point that out. :)

The widest margin in any bowl game --- EVER (we're talking 120 years) --- was 56.

The poster child for title game mismatches --- Nebraska 62, Florida 24 --- was "only" 38.

    Last night was 58.

The only thing worse than these polls is the fact that we lend credibility to them. If we are seriously going to the NFL-lite model, this shit needs abolished.

Four voted Alabama # 2? Ridiculous.

Proving that there will always be teams ranked behind another team they’ve beaten?

Seriously, Kansas State should be ahead of TCU by that logic, which upon 30 seconds of thought turns out not to be logic at all.

Kansas State actually led TCU 28-10 at one point in their first meeting. Wildcats lost their starting quarterback, and then briefly lost their backup QB. Third-stringer threw an interception on his first pass after TCU had taken the lead.

A full strength K-State ranked ahead of TCU isn't all that crazy.
