Penalizing a team in the rankings for off-the-field stuff would set a precedent NOBODY in college football should want.

    This week's rankings:

    1. Mississippi State
    2. Florida State
    3. Auburn
    4. Oregon
    ---
    5. Alabama
    6. TCU
    7. Kansas State
    8. Michigan State
    9. Arizona State
    10. Notre Dame

    Ole Miss drops to 11th.

I guess the only real surprise is Kansas State jumping Michigan State.

Actually, there are two. TCU also hosts Kansas State on Saturday.

    in ramping up games

I think Oregon is a lock to make the Final 4, assuming they beat Utah sat night.

I think Chef is a lock to win the lottery assuming he picks the right numbers.

Seemed like there was not much interest this week in new poll:

    1 Mississippi State 9-0
    2 Oregon 9-1
    3 Florida State 9-0
    4 TCU 8-1

We've been discussing it extensively on the weekly thread.

There's plenty of interest, including evidence that the committee's standards are changing week by week, indicating that personalities within the group have an influence. No surprise there, every committee in human history has wound up with dominant individual members.

Who are the most dominant personalities in the group? Haden? Alvarez? Jernstedt?
And why if there is only going to be one woman, are there any at all?

All these folks are feeling their way in a new situation. I wouldn't be surprised if the dominant figures in the room changed from week to week depending on which member had either the strongest or most passionate argument about a particular team.
