I thought it was interesting that Baylor's win over TCU seems to be somewhat dismissed by the committee.

    Agree completely about TCU-Baylor.

At the end of the year, Baylor will be #4. The one thing they need more than anything, is not necessarily for TCU to lose a game or two (which would help), but also for West Virginia to win out.

Ohio State will get passed over because of their loss to Virginia Tech, which is looking worse and worse as time goes on.

Beating the shit out of Sparty -- at Sparty -- more than makes up for a season-opening loss.

    Not a season-opening loss to a team that's now 5-5.

    Which beat 8-1 Duke.

It's all relative at some point.

Florida State's schedule has only looked weaker as the season progressed. Clemson is nothing special. ND sucks. Miami isn't ranked. Right now their best win is #22 Clemson, then Louisville (which may drop after ND visits).

I'm not a Florida State fan by any stretch........in fact......I don't really care for them.
    Their case is different.
It's not their fault that the rest of the ACC (for the most part) is utter rubbish.
I've always felt that way about conference schools.
I also don't understand what the big hulla-balloo is about them being Number 3 instead of Number 2 is.....They would still be playing Oregon.

I have encountered some mildly amusing comments related to Florida State being passed over by 1-loss teams...

The best thing FSU can do for its case for No. 1 is to lead Florida but lose late because it will satisfy two of the committees key variables of late.
    1. By leading, FSU would improve its game control metrics.
    2. FSU would finally have that quality SEC loss that has been a weakness in its resume.

Meanwhile, the schedule of Mississippi State (Auburn, Texas A&M, LSU) has only improved.

Baylor beat TCU head to head, yet is ranked lower than TCU? Something's wrong.
