Arizona was relatively fortunate to escape UTSA without a loss and look at it now. Crazy.

Gotta love higher education. They must be smarter than the rest of us simpletons.

It's hard to fathom that the playoff is even more fucked up than the BCS, but the idea that a defending national champ that's gone undefeated in a major conference might not make the playoff is absurd. Ditto the idea that a team with only 1 loss is left out in favor of a team it defeated.

I think I said some pages back that Florida State was playing itself out of the playoff because they weren't doing things "the right way" and that committee would send a message.

Ohio State blows somebody out and the Seminoles kick a field goal in double overtime to win and they'll be outside looking in.

It's going to be rainy in Charlotte this weekend, which might favor Georgia Tech. Maybe the Jackets can do the committee a favor and give FSU an actual loss.

I said two years ago that having a committee pick teams isn't going to help anything, And it doesn't matter if it's 4, 8, 16 or whatever..... the teams left out are going to cry foul just like they do in basketball, baseball and hockey.

The NCAA took something simple and needlessly complicated it. All it had to do was expand the BCS formula to pick four teams instead of two. And, yeah, there is no way the committee could justify leaving an undefeated, defending national champion out of the playoff.
That said, I believe Georgia Tech will beat the Noles and Wisconsin will win the Big Ten over Ohio State.

If that happens, is there room for both TCU and Baylor? Would have to be, right?

Hopefully they would be seeded in a way that allows Alabama and Oregon to administer beatdowns.

    But, yes. Why not?

The NCAA isn't running this. The conferences are.

steak, thanks for providing that table. I've been wondering what the BCS would come up with for the past few weeks. Many thanks, VB.

Jesus Christ. Does anyone really think an undefeated FSU will be left out of the playoffs? Have your head examined, please.
