Theoretically. Except FSU was just there for the national championship game last year.

Of course, all this Florida State talk becomes moot when Tech kicks its ass.

I wouldn't guarantee that. They've been there and done that a year ago.

Not saying FSU wouldn't sell out their allotment at either place...but I'm sure the Sugar Bowl folks are much happier that FSU is replacing Mississippi State than TCU and most FSU folks I know are much happier to take an easier, cheaper trip.

I thought TCU had a very strong fan showing when they played in the Rose Bowl a few years ago. Or am I misremembering that?

I think the committee is putting itself in a position so there is no way a 1-loss FSU team gets in.

If Florida State was No. 1 where it should be, a loss to Georgia Tech might, emphasis on might, not knock them out of the playoff.

I have no problem with losing in a conference championship game knocking a team out of the playoffs. I think it should be mandatory.

Agree wholeheartedly with this. Otherwise, why play it? If Missouri beats Alabama, Alabama shouldn't play for the national title. (And neither should Missouri.) If teams from the same conference go into the championship game ranked 1-2, loser falls to 5 (or lower). Very simple.

Arizona has to win AND have at least two of the other big five (Bama, FSU, TCU, Baylor, Ohio St.) lose.

Championship in the 2nd best conference and two wins over a top 5 team would be a pretty strong resume.
